Restoring the services that were disrupted by the pandemic
With coronavirus cases easing, the hospital is now focused on restoring the services that were disrupted by the pandemic. Clinicians are reviewing all waiting lists very carefully to prioritise patients dependent on the state of their health. This means that those with the greatest need will be seen first. When it’s time for patients to come for their appointment or procedure, the hospital will get in touch with them.
Hospital visits & visitor restrictions
In line with current national guidance, visitor restrictions have been partially lifted. As coronavirus have cases reduced, limited visiting is now allowed on the following terms:
- Each patient may now have one visitor a day for one hour.
- Visits must be booked between 10am & 4pm and at least a day in advance by calling the ward clerk.
- All visitors must follow social distancing and wear a face mask at all times.
- In some circumstances, such as maternity support, visiting will be longer than an hour.
There are some exceptions to the one visitor rule, for example the Children’s Ward, and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, vulnerable adults and patients nearing the end of life. Please contact the ward directly for further information in these cases.
The new Lloyds Pharmacy, located on Level 3 in the main hospital has opened.
It provides outpatient prescriptions for the Trust with its service provided to clinics and is also available to visitors and staff for a range of pharmacy retail items and over the counter medicines.
All other medicines used within the hospital, including for inpatients and any other pharmacy related service will continue to be available from the trust hospital pharmacy.
